Career
After starting out as a singles skater, Wende switched to pair skating at about the age of 16-17.[5] He originally competed with Rebecca Handke with whom he is the 2005-2006 German national silver medalist. In the 2007-2008 season, he competed with Ekaterina Vasilieva. They were the 2008 German bronze medalists.
Wende teamed up with Maylin Hausch in September 2008, though their training was initially limited due to a ruptured ligament in his right foot.[6] They train in Oberstdorf and are coached by Karel Fajfr. Hausch and Wende won their first Grand Prix medal, bronze, at 2010 Trophée Eric Bompard.
In the 2011-12 season, the pair were fourth at 2011 Nebelhorn Trophy. They were eighth at 2011 Skate America with Hausch suffering from tendinitis in her foot.[7]
