2001 Redistricting

Though the district more than doubled in area, its population was relatively unchanged. The district in the 1990s also was centered on San Jose and the Mountain View-Santa Clara-Sunnyvale corridor. In 2001, some parts of the city of San Jose were moved to the 10th Senate District and replaced with Gilroy.
