Marilyn Van Derbur

Marilyn Van Derbur (born June 6, 1937) is the 1958 Miss America pageant holder.[1]

Van Derbur from Denver, Colorado,[1] graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Colorado. As a result of an alleged history of sexual abuse by her father,[2] she founded the American Coalition for Abuse Awareness and One Voice and authored "Miss America By Day: Lessons Learned from Ultimate Betrayals and Unconditional Love".[3]

One of Van Derbur's fellow contestants was the 1957 Miss Arizona, the actress Lynn Borden.
