"One-Nine-Nine-Nine"/"Like They Used to Say" is a double A-Side single by rapper Common. Each song is featured on Soundbombing II, a compilation album by Rawkus Records released in 1999. The song "One-Nine-Nine-Nine" features an introduction by Talib Kweli, guest rapping by Sadat X and production by Hi-Tek. A music video was released for it, which also featured a brief cameo from the late Harold Hunter. Additionally, Rawkus Records featured it in their Best of Decade I: 1995-2005 compilation. Common's vocals on the song were sampled in "Mic Like a Memory" by Cunninlynguists.

"Like They Used to Say" was produced by Dug Infinite, who also worked on Common's first three albums. In the song, Common talks about the days of old and comments where he sees hip hop music heading in the future.

It includes scratches of numerous old school classics such as "Poison" by Kool G Rap & DJ Polo, "Ain't No Half Steppin'" by Big Daddy Kane, "Make the Music With Your Mouth Biz" by Biz Markie, "Roxanne Roxanne" by UTFO, "It's Yours" by T La Rock & Jazzy Jay, "My Adidas" by Run-DMC, "10% Dis" by MC Lyte, "You Gots to Chill" by EPMD, "Boyz in the Hood" by Eazy-E, "All for One" by Brand Nubian, "Top Billin'" by Audio Two, "Plug Tunin'" by De La Soul, "Going Way Back" by Just-Ice, and "Paid in Full" by Eric B. & Rakim.
