September 10 ,1963 -) is a former head coach atBall State University . He is best known for leading the Cardinals to upset wins over Kansas andUCLA during the 2001Maui Invitational . Buckley was an assistant coach at the University of Iowa underSteve Alford , who left the Hawkeyes to take the head coaching job at the New Mexico Lobos. He was most recently an assistant coach atMarquette University where he is reunited with former Ball State player and 2006 MAC Freshman of the Year Maurice Acker, who transferred after Buckley was fired.Buckley has served as an assistant coach at Bemidji State,
Rockford College , Wisconsin, Ball State and Marquette.In April 2008, Buckley was hired by Tom Crean to be an assistant coach at Indiana University. Crean and Buckley worked together at Marquette.
