Chan Chu (Chinese: ; pinyin: chánchú; Wade–Giles: ch'an-ch'u) means "toad" or "frog", especially the "Lucky Money Toad" (Chinese: ; pinyin: zhāocái chánchú; literally "wealth-beckoning toad") or "Three-legged Money Frog", a popular Chinese symbol for prosperity. It often depicts a bullfrog portrayed with red eyes and flared nostrils, sitting on a pile of traditional Chinese cash, with a coin in its mouth.
