During winter months Highway 21 is often subject closures at various point as it lies on thelee shore ofLake Huron . Lake effect snow squalls frequently subject motorists to poor visibility and slippery conditions. The road also serves as a vital link along the shore from Owen Sound, towards Highway 402 (with Highway 23 to the east providing an alternate north-south corridor further inland).Highway 21 (Ontario)
