- Tri-Valley
Tri-Valley is a triangle-shaped region in the East Bay of the
San Francisco Bay Area . The valley is 18 miles southeast of Oakland and 33 miles from San Francisco. It is based around the cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon and Danville as well as the unincorporated towns of Alamo, Sunol, Blackhawk-Camino Tassajara in the three valleys from which it takes its name:Amador Valley ,Livermore Valley andSan Ramon Valley . The region is well known for its Mediterranean climate, wine region, historic downtown areas and fine dining. It is a primarily affluent suburban area with a population of about 300,000.There are a number of groups that work together in this area including [http://www.trivalleycares.org/ Tri-Valley CAREs] which is a community group form in opposition of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory but has grown to become an environmental lobby group. The Tri-Valley is serviced by WHEELS, formerly called Tri-Valley Transit, a bus agency that operates local bus service in addition to feeder service to Hacienda Business Park,
