Episode recap

After Nermal comes and disturbs Garfield from his nap, Garfield stuffs her into a box addressed to Abu Dhabi and then leaves it on the porch for the mailman to pick up. While Jon is walking up the walk to the house, he sees an ad for the Stonewall Obedience School and remarks that Garfield would never go to such a place. But after discovering Nermal on the porch, Jon decides to send Garfield to the school.

Garfield initially looks forward to attending the school because he compares it to university life, but when he meets the aggressive headmistress Miss Stonewall, he changes his mind. Jon even begins to change his mind when Miss Stonewall mentions that she trains cats to be afraid of humans, but he eventually leaves Garfield there for a six-hour session.

After a few strenuous exercises, Miss Stonewall orders Clyde, a fellow student, to reluctantly demonstrate the obstacle course (at the end of which is a dog pit that has to be swung over by a rope). Just before Garfield is to have "his" turn, he sneaks away and eventually winds up in Miss Stonewall’s office, where several cats are locked in cages. After Garfield sets them free, Miss Stonewall blocks the only exit to keep them from escaping completely, but the cats overpower her and escape after all.

Meanwhile, Garfield dresses up as a little boy and walks Clyde away on a leash. Miss Stonewall is oblivious for a split second but then she finds them out and closes the door on the leash. Clyde escapes the school, but Garfield leads Miss Stonewall on a chase via the obstacle course. At one point, Miss Stonewall is stuck over the dog pit, screaming for help and promising that she’ll never harm another cat. Garfield saves her and then she runs away from him, proclaiming that she never wants to see a cat again. Then Jon comes in and asks what happened, to which Garfield responds that he graduated.

Back at home, Jon comes across Garfield packing a box, and he accuses Garfield of trying to mail Nermal to Abu Dhabi again. Nermal then walks by; then Jon decides to fix Garfield a snack as a token of apology. After he walks away, it is discovered that Odie is inside the box; Garfield plans to ship him to the Yukon.

Notes

*Nermal and the mailman make their first appearances in this episode.

Quotes

["Walking along the ceiling and wall"]
Garfield: It takes real sharp claws to do this. We’re professionals. Don’t try this at home.

Jon: Don’t you realize how wrong it was to try and mail Nermal to Abu Dhabi?
Garfield: You’re right. Egypt’s further.

Garfield: No kidding? She was thrown out of the Marines for "what?"
Clyde: Unnecessary roughness.

Garfield: Be quiet, Odie. You'll like the Yukon.
