Marcelo Fabián Pontiroli (born January 22, 1972 in San Andrés de Giles, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine football goalkeeper currently playing for Deportivo Merlo.

Career

Pontiroli began his career in 1995 at Deportivo Español, before moving to Independiente in 1997.

In 1998 he moved to Argentinos Juniors for the first time, staying at the club until 2000. Between 2000 and 2005 he played for Belgrano de Córdoba, Quilmes and Portuguese side Varzim S.C..

In 2005 he returned to Argentinos Juniors where he was first choice goalkeeper until his move to Quilmes in 2007. With Quilmes, he reached promotion to the Argentine Primera División during the 2009-10 season. However, he did not stay in Quilmes after that achievement, and decided to join second division side Deportivo Merlo.^[1]
