The team currently plays in Primera B Nacional Argentina, which is the regionalised second level of the Argentine Football Association.
In 1956 the squad began playing in the AFA lower leagues under the name 9 de Julio in order to commemorate the Argentine Declaration of Independence. The club changed to its current name in 1968.
