"Likio the Crusher Pope" is looking good and maybe a state contender.
TJ "The Christ" Fitzgerald once wrestled him to the floor, slamming his torso into a bench, crippling him and his ability to walk... it is said that he has been training 24/7 to achieve his revenge.
Baseball

Choir
The PHS choir department is managed by Cory Mendenhall. The choir department is composed of four choirs: A beginning
SATB choir is an open enrollment class, and works as a starter for getting into the program. The other three choirs are audition only choirs. There is an Advanced Women's Chorus (AWE) comprised of female voices, usually anywhere from 30-40 members. There is also a Chamber Choir, a 28 member choir with seven tenors, seven altos, seven sopranos, and seven basses, referred to as "PHS Singers." The largest choir is the Concert Choir, ranging from anywhere to 88-110 members.Drama
The current drama teacher at Provo High is Bob Bauer. He is believed to be the best drama teacher, his students past and present say he ROCKS!!! During the '05-'06 year, Bauer directed both the school's musical, "
Beauty and the Beast ", and "The Servant of Two Masters ." The '06-'07 musical was "The Pirates of Penzance " and "The Comedy of Errors " which showed the same year.Bauer's third year at PHS has given him the opportunity (which he accepted) to direct "
Fiddler on the Roof ", and "The Crucible "."
The Crucible " was performed in March, portrayed with Bob Bauer's own take and perception of what he believed it should be. The production was successful in this intent."
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat " will be performed November of 2008. This is the biggest cast that Bob Bauer has ever had onstage at one time, and he is hoping that it will turn out as the best play he has ever directed. The previous Drama teacher was Susan Anderson. Some plays/musicals under her direction were "
The Scarlet Pimpernel ", "You Can't Take it With You ", and "South Pacific".Ballroom
Angela Williams is the current head ballroom coach and has been since the year of
2000 . Her first year at Provo High School, she made a Mission Impossible 2 themed Latin Medley. In 2003, after a huge success with Medleys at National Dancesport Championships, the next year became the biggest tryouts for ballroom team ever. In Angela Williams' fourth year she decided to split the company into two teams -- Varsity and Junior Varsity Teams, which she coached. That year the varsity team did an Africa themed Latin medley (which had been done the previous year along with a Classic Hollywood Standard Medley) and the JV team did an Evita Latin Medley.
The following year, she brought back the Mission Impossible 2 Latin medley, and made a Sports themed Latin Medley for her JV ballroom team. The Varsity team also got a new Standard Medley called “Fosse”. She kept the standard medley until 2005.
For 2005-2006, Sean Farris was hired as the new JV Ballroom Coach. He then choreographed a new Hip Hop themed Latin Medley. The Varsity team also got a new medley themed
Gloria Estefan , the “Conga” Medley. After a year of working as the JV coach, Sean Farris was no longer available coach at Provo High. For the team of 2006-2007, a new coach, Tiave Matagi, was hired. He kept the Hip Hop Latin Medley, but choreographed a
Hans Zimmer “Music of Majesty” Standard Medley. That year, the varsity team placed 3rd first division at the National Dancesport Championships with both of their medleys, while the JV team placed 5th in second division with both medleys. And in 3 years in a row, Varsity Team placed 1st in National Dancesports Championships High School Team Match. Many of the alumni have gone on to being on the UVU and
BYU tour teams. Both teams have traveled in the past to such places as
Idaho Falls , Las Vegas, andCalifornia .This year, 2007-2008, the varsity team got a new Standard Medley, once again choreographed by Angela Williams. Their Conga Medley is in their last year. The JV team has brought back Varsity’s Mission Impossible 2 themed Medley (making it the 4th time it has been danced since it debuted at the 2001 US National DanceSport Championship) while they kept their Music of Majesty Standard Medley. The both teams are scheduled to travel to Idaho, compete in National Dancesport Championships, and (for Varsity) travel to California for 8 days.
Provo High's ballroom program took state again, for the 4th year in a row. Their new standard medley, Mary Poppins took 2nd in the Nation and 1st in the state. This was the first year ever for their JV team's Latin medley to make division one. JV's Standard Medley took 3rd this year in division two, while their Latin took 8th in division one.
This year the Varsity team will be competing their Mary Poppins standard medley for a second year, and coach Angela Williams has taken a daring step in choreographing a brand-new Pokemon themed Latin medley. This team is working hard and preparing for another successful year.

Due to its close proximity to
Brigham Young University , Provo High has long operated as an informal local training ground for BYU's student teachers. From 1996 to 1999, PHS and BYU entered into a formal partnership with two primary goals: to improve the student teacher program and to work at retaining ninth grade students, who are statistically most likely to drop out of school.
