The station is located at the northern end of the Centre Road level crossing, which also provides station access.
The station consists of three platforms, two in an island format. The island platform (platform 1 & 2, Flinders Street & Frankston bound) has a large brick building with an enclosed waiting room, a ticket office and toilets, while platform 3 (Frankston bound) has a smaller brick building. A large
Metcard machine is located inside the waiting room, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small coin-only Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 3.History
Bentleigh station opened on
