Joe Roth (co-founder and former co-chairman/CEO)Morgan Creek Productions is an American film studio that has released box-office hits like Young Guns, Dead Ringers, Major League, True Romance, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The King and I, The Crush, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and others. The studio was co-founded in 1987 by James G. Robinson, and Joe Roth.
The studio has had a varied 24-year history that has seen the Santa Monica, California-based company shift domestic distribution bases from 20th Century Fox to Warner Bros. and, since July 2005, and onwards for the next three years, Universal Studios.
Subdivision Morgan Creek Records has produced soundtrack albums to films as well as the rock band, Eleven.
Founder Robinson continues to lead the company as chairman and CEO. His son, David C. Robinson, serves as vice president.
On May 3rd, 2011, Morgan Creek International, Inc (under a new name, Inverness Distribution Ltd., based in Bermuda), filed for bankruptcy. James G. Robinson has not gone public with any statements.[1]
