Paul Zed (born December 31, 1956 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian lawyer, professor, and politician.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Zed is currently a member of the Liberal Party of Canada in the Canadian House of Commons. He represented the New Brunswick riding of Fundy—Royal from 1993 to 1997, when he was defeated by John Herron. He was elected in 2004 for the riding of Saint John, and reelected in 2006. He is a former Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons. Currently, Zed is the Critic for Cities and Communities in the Official Opposition's Shadow Cabinet.

From 1982 to 1984, Zed served as assistant and advisor to New Brunswick's federal cabinet minister, Roméo LeBlanc (later Canada's 25th Governor General), when he was Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and Public Works with responsibility for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and the National Capital Commission.

Zed was a lecturer in law at both the University of Ottawa Law School (1982-1984) and the University of New Brunswick at the Business Administration Faculty (1985-1993).

He has been active in many local community organizations, which included directorships with the Aitken Bicentennial Exhibition Cente, Saint John Labour Community Services Inc., the United Way of Greater Saint John, Chairman and director of CRSJ Radio, and served as National Public Relations Vice Chairman of the Canadian Cancer Society, Valedictorian of the Arts & Sciences Convocation at Dalhousie University and is the Life President of the Class.

Zed was previously related to New Brunswick's powerful Irving family through his ex-wife, Judith Irving, the granddaughter of K.C. Irving.
