Paul Butler (artist)

Paul Butler (artist)

Paul Butler (b. January 18th, 1973) is the host of a multidisciplinary practice that includes: hosting the Collage Party (a touring experimental studio); directing the operations of The Other Gallery [ [http://www.theothergallery.com] ] (a nomadic commercial gallery) and exhibiting his own work, (often created from the 'left-overs' from "Collage Party" events). In 1997, he founded the UpperTradingPost.com - a non-profit, invitational forum for artists' trading. Butler has exhibited at White Columns, New York; Goldsmiths, University of London; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Sparwasser HQ, Berlin; and The Power Plant, Toronto.

This upcoming year, Butler will lead an experimental residency called ‘Reverse Pedagogy’ for The Banff Centre, act as a guest curator for The Plug In ICA’s Overlooked Space, and organize a major Collage Party exchange that will travel to Cape Dorset and Ottawa in an effort to unite the Nunavut art community with the rest of Canada.
