In 2006 he won gold in the 400 metre freestyle and 400 metre individual medley.
He attended Robert Gordon's College during his school years.
He is currently training at Stockport ITC and represented Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 400 m freestyle and 4×200 m freestyle relay swimming events.
