Nathaniel Allen

Nathaniel Allen (1780 – December 22, 1832) was a United States Representative from New York.

Allen was born in what is now East Bloomfield, Ontario County, New York before the town was established. He worked as a blacksmith before becoming postmaster in Honeoye Falls (1811), a militia officer during the War of 1812 and a New York Assemblyman in 1812. He was Sheriff of Ontario County (1814–1819).

Nathaniel Allen was elected the 16th United States Congress for one term, 1819–1921. Afterwards he was Supervisor of the Town of Richmond.

Allen died while conducting business in Louisville, Kentucky, and he was buried in Ontario County.
