Mont Albert is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria,
Australia, located in the suburb of Mont Albert on the Lilydale and Belgrave railway lines. Mont Albert station is unmanned and in Metcard Zones 1+2 overlap.

Facilities

Mont Albert station is located between Beresford Street and Churchill Street, with access from both.

The station consists of three platforms, two in an island format. Platform 1 has a large weatherboard building, while platforms 2 & 3 (island platform) has a small steel shelter. A large Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platforms 2 & 3. An underpass is situated at the citybound end of the station.

History

Mont Albert Station opened on August 11 1890. Track amplification works resulted in the Box Hill bound platform being rebuilt and converted to an island platform in the 1960s. [cite web

The station was one of four used for the first trials of the myki ticketing system on the rail network, carried out in August 2008 by Kamco staff. The other stations were East Camberwell, Canterbury and Chatham stations. [cite web
