Myles Goodwyn (born June 23, 1948(1948-06-23) in Woodstock, New Brunswick) [1][2] is a record producer,[1] guitarist,[1] lead vocalist,[1] main songwriter, founding member of the veteran Canadian hard rock band April Wine[2] and father of the electronic artist Aaron Goodwyn. As the longest serving (and only original) member,[2][3][4] Goodwyn has led the band from its modest garage band roots to multi-platinum sales.[3][4]

Following the band's peak years during the 1970s and early 1980s, Goodwyn disbanded the group to pursue a solo career. After a brief relocation to the Bahamas, Goodwyn returned to Canada and reformed April Wine in 1992. He continues to lead the band to the present day.[2]

In January 2003 (2003-01) Myles Goodwyn received an ECMA Lifetime Achievement Award for his impact on the music industry of Atlantic Canada.[5][6][7][8]

In March 2008 (2008-03), Goodwyn stated in an interview that he has been back in the studio recording his second solo effort Myles Goodwyn & Friends of the Blues, which is expected to hit store shelves mid way through the year. This will be an all-blues album featuring a slew of guest performers such as Amos Garrett, David Wilcox, Frank Marino, Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne, and Rick Derringer (to name a few).[9][10]

In leading the band April Wine, Myles was one of the few artists to be able to transfer the raw live sound to the band's studio albums.[clarification needed][citation needed]
