He was drafted in the fifth round, 159th overall, by the St. Louis Blues in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. The Panthers signed him as a free agent on July 3, 2008.
After playing three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Guelph Storm, Oshawa Generals, and Kingston Frontenacs, Beckford-Tseu has played for the Worcester IceCats, Alaska Aces, Peoria Rivermen, and Rochester Americans.
Beckford-Tseu played in his first NHL game on February 21, 2008 against the Los Angeles Kings.
