Dhrol is a city and a municipality in Jamnagar district in the state of Gujarat, India.

History
Jadeja dynasty ruled over the Saurastra since 450 years above,the Hardhrolji and Jamravalji came from the Kutch. They spread huge Jadeja state in Saurastra. Dhrol was the second class state in Saurastra. Bhucharmori is the famous battle-field in Saurastra which is located near Dhrol. Long time ago, A fierce battle was fought between Jaam Sataaji's son Jaam Ajaaji and Akabar's army commander Mirza Aziz Koka.=== v.c.jadeja (Ref.dhrol ank).
Before arrival of Jadejas in Saurastra, Dhrol town was known as Dhamalpur (ધમલપુર). Dhamalpur was ruled by Chavda King founded & named after Dhamal Chavda (ધમલ ચાવડા) who then reigned at Dhamalpur a.k.a [Dhrol] obstructed the Jam in their conquests in one way or another, and in order to remove this obstruction, Jam Hardholji marched against Dhamal Chavda. Dhamal Chavda's army was made of different warrior clans Like Chavda, Rathod, Chauhan, Jadav, Jhala, Gohil, Varsur, Makwana, Dabhi, Khimsurya, Solanki, etc., These clans were not as united as Jadejas. consequently, they were defeated and King Dhamal Chavda was killed by Jadejas in A.D 1539.(A.K.Zala)
During British Rule of India, Dhrol was a Princely state of India ruled by Jadeja dynasty, having an area of 732 sqkm and 71 villages under it. It was accorded 9-gun salute status and privy purse of 1,10,000/-. The last ruler HH Thakore Saheb Shri Chandrasinhji Dipsinhji Jadeja acceded to Union of India on 15th February, 1948. Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census[2], Dhrol had a population of 23,618. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Dhrol has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74% and, female literacy is 64%. In Dhrol, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
