The Mongolian Academy of Sciences (Mongolian: Монгол улсын Шинжлэх ухааны Академи, Mongol ulsyn Shinjlekh ukhaany Akademi) is Mongolia's first centre of modern sciences. It was founded in 1921, when the government established an Institute of Literature and Script, which was later upgraded to Institute of Science. Later, in 1961, it was reconstituted as the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS). Scientists at the Institute of Geology in Ulan Bator have been responsible for much original palaeontological research and for field studies.
In 1982, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences has published the text of the Treaty of friendship and alliance between the Government of Mongolia and Tibet in the Mongolian language.[1]
