Loop 375, also known as the Purple Heart Memorial Freeway in the Northern section, the Cesar E. Chavez Border Highway in the southern seciton, and the Joe Battle Highway in the eastern section, is a highway loop that encircles the city of El Paso, Texas. Along the Rio Grande River that separates El Paso from the Mexican city of Ciudad Juárez, SR 375 shares several miles of U.S. Highway 85, where it is also known as the Border Highway. Moving east, U.S. Highway 85 turns to the north (away from the border with Mexico, but continuing to run parallel to the Rio Grande River and west of the Franklin Mountains). SR 375 continues with U.S. Highway 85 until it reaches the road known as Woodrow Bean Transmountain Drive, which travels east-west and passes through the Franklin Mountains that bisect the city of El Paso. East of the Franklin Mountains, SR 375 passes through land owned by Fort Bliss until it turns towards the south and meets U.S. Highway 85.
