In May
2006 , a report commissioned by British Gas [http://www.britishgasnews.co.uk/managed_content/files/pdf/greenCity.pdf] showed that housing in South Derbyshire produced the 19th highest average carbon emissions in the country at 6,929 kg ofcarbon dioxide per dwelling.
