Moshi Moshi Records

Moshi Moshi Records is a small London-based record label that has released music by bands such as The Rakes, Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Late of the Pier, Hot Club De Paris, Kate Nash, Junkboy, Architecture in Helsinki, Tilly and the Wall, Slow Club, Yeti, and Au Revoir Simone. Mates Of State's 2008 record Re-Arrange Us was Moshi Moshi's 50th release.

Moshi Moshi also has a Singles Club that has been responsible for the release of records by Florence And The Machine, thecocknbullkid, Fanfarlo, Casiokids, Lykke Li and Friendly Fires amongst others.

The label celebrated its tenth birthday in October 2008 with a party at Matter in the O2 Arena. Hot Chip, Kate Nash, Florence And The Machine, Slow Club, Tilly And The Wall, The Mae Shi, The Wave Pictures and James Yuill were among the artists who performed.

It is named after the Japanese telephone greeting "moshi moshi", which translates to hello.

Live

Moshi Moshi hosts a monthly live event at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen in London. Bands who have previously played include The Young Knives, Casiokids, James Yuill, and Sky Larkin amongst others. July 2009 saw the beginning of a new Moshi night at The Garage in London.

Album

In 2008 the label released its first compilation album, named Moshi Moshi Singles Compilation. It featured a number of artists who had released material via the label. Most notable of the artists included were Kate Nash, Late of the Pier and Friendly Fires. A second compilation was released in April 2010, and featured a veriety of singles from bands who had signed to the label since the first release including Florence and the Machine, amongst other lesser known acts.
