It covers 3,738 acres (1,513 ha) with a long sand beach on Lake Huron. The sand road that cuts through the forest and leads to the entrance of the park may require a 4WD vehicle. At the boundary between private/county land and state land, the thin sand two-track road, Sand Hill Wilds Road, becomes a very wide groomed gravel road, Negwegon Park Road.
Activities
- Hiking: There are 11.6 miles (19 km) of hiking trails.
- Camping: Camping is permitted at four primitive, walk-in sites.
- Hunting: The park is open to hunting (deer, turkey, rabbit, woodcock, duck, goose and squirrel).
- Metal detecting: Allowed on part of the beach but finds must be inspected by staff.
