Sally OldfieldThe Sallyangie were a 1960s folk duo consisting of siblings Mike and Sally Oldfield. In 1969 they released their first and only album Children of the Sun. The duo split in the fall of 1969 after limited success and a national tour. Both members have released albums since to great success.
The duo's name is reputed to be an amalgamation of "Sally" (Oldfield's name) and "Angie", the name of a guitar instrumental, written by Davey Graham.[1]

"Child of Allah"
"Child of Allah" / "Lady Go Lightly" is the second single by the folk duet, The Sallyangie, released in December 1972.[2] It was released 3 years after The Sallyangie had split up,[3] and the song "Child of Allah", subsequently ended up on Sally Oldfield's debut solo album, Water Bearer, six years later, in 1978.[4]
The 7 inch vinyl single was produced by Jimmy Horowitz. The United States release of the single lists the A-side title as "Sweet Child of Allah". It was released on the Phillips record label but manufactured and distributed by Mercury Record Productions, Inc.[5] A shortened version of the band name, S. Angie, was used as the writing credit. The catalog numbers were 40718 for the USA release and 6006259 for the UK.[6]
