- Bradford Bypass
The Bradford Bypass is a planned
freeway that will travel nearBradford, Ontario . It will serve as a connector between Highways 400 and 404 on the extreme northern edge of the Greater Toronto Area.No designation determined at this time, but may receive a designation of 413, 414, 488, or simply be extensions of 404 and 427. It may also be given name Lord Simcoe Expressway in honour of Lord Graves Simcoe of Upper Canada. The planned Western Terminus is at Highway 400 near Bradford, or Highway 427 near Bond Head. The planned Eastern Terminus is at Highway 404 near Queensville.
Construction was expected to begin by the end of this decade. As of April 2008, the Ontario Government has not included the project in its plans. Despite recommendations from the ministry of transport and regional councils, the project will not go ahead at this point. It was slated to be completed by 2021.
