Overview

Malaysian Cub Prix is divided into 3 categories - Expert, Novice and Wira epg.

Expert

The 2007 season was the final season for the use of 2-stroke machines (maximum displacement: 125 cc) with the same reasons as Novice category. The Expert category has more intense competition and the winner of the Expert category for the whole season is known as King of Kapchai (Raja Kapcai).

Starting from the 2008 season, the Expert category uses 4-stroke machines with the displacement ranging from 110 cc to 130 cc.

Novice

Starting from the 2006 season, the bikes used in Novice category are 4-stroke mopeds with displacements up to 115 cc. In previous seasons, 2-stroke 110 cc mopeds were used, but they were changed to 4-stroke mopeds to encourage the use of 4-stroke bikes for environmental reasons. Another reason is to enable Malaysian racers to familiarize with 4-stroke racing to compete with Thai and Indonesian racers who are more familiar with 4-stroke racing.

Wira epg

This category was introduced in 2002 to encourage young teen riders to take part by using 4-stroke machines. The machine used is same as the Novice category - 4-stroke 115 cc, but with the maximum age limit of 19 years old (Previous age limit: 21 years old).
