Career
A centre midfielder, Blasi made his Serie A debut for A.S. Roma in a match against Piacenza on 22 January 2000. he also played for Lecce at Serie B before returned to Roma. In mid-2000 he was signed by Perugia at (first in co-ownership deal). Which he played 46 Serie A matches. In June 2001, he was signed permanently for 18 billion Italian lire.[1][2]
In July 2002, he was signed by Juventus, and loaned back to Perugia in the first season.
In the second season he joined Parma.[3] He was suspended due to test positive for nandrolone[4] until March.[5]
Juventus
Blasi returned to Juventus F.C. in 2004, under Fabio Capello, his coach at Roma, he received his first Italy call-up in August.[6] He partner with Emerson at the midfield.
In the next season, due to the injury of Gianluca Pessotto, he played as right-back. Due to the arrival of Patrick Vieira, he is lack of first team chance at midfield, in although awarded a new contract until 2009.[7] He played 6 start.
Waiting for the 2006 Italian football scandal punishment, Blasi joined Fiorentina with option to purchase,[8] under Cesare Prandelli, his coach at Parma.
Napoli
Along with former team-mate Marcelo Zalayeta, Blasi was sold to newly promoted Serie A team Napoli for €1.4M and €2.45 million respectively in co-ownership deal.[9][10] He signed a 5-year contract.[9] In June 2008 Napoli bought the remain half for €2.6 million.[11]
On 31 August 2009 he was loaned to Palermo[12][13] after played the opening match against Salernitana in Coppa Italia on 16 August.[14]
International career
At youth level he played for Italy U15 team, Italy U16 team at 1997 UEFA European Under-16 Football Championship qualifying; Italy U18 team at 1999 UEFA European Under-18 Football Championship, which lost to Portugal U18 at the final; Italy U20 team at 2000 Toulon Tournament. He also played at 2002 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship, as starter due to the injury of Enzo Maresca.[15]
Manuele Blasi has been playing for the Italian national team, for which he debuted on 18 August 2004 in a friendly match against Iceland.
