Operation Ashwamedh was an operation conducted between April 24 and April 25, 1993 when NSG Commandos stormed a hijacked Indian Airlines Boeing 737 with 141 passengers on board at Amritsar airport. The hijacker, Mohammed Yousuf Shah, was killed before he could react and harm any of the hostages.
