The Blanton Museum of Art is the
art museum and research center of theUniversity of Texas at Austin under the College of Fine Arts.The museum is the largest university art museum in the United States. [The University of Texas at Austin Visitor's Guide, 2008, p.21] The Blanton was established in
1963 as the University Art Museum. In1980 , it was renamed the Archer M. Huntington Art Gallery.On
April 30 ,2006 , the museum opened a new 155,000 square foot (14,000 m²) facility on the University's campus, renamed the Blanton Museum of Art, after receiving a $12 million donation fromHouston Endowment Inc. in honor of its former chairman,Jack S. In September 2008 the Blanton Museum of Art at the
University of Texas at Austin will present an exhibition entitled: "Reimagining Space: ThePark Place Gallery Group in 1960s New York" curated by Linda Dalrymple Henderson. The exhibition is scheduled to run fromSeptember 28 ,2008 –January 18 ,2009 .References
