The Federal Correctional Institution Danbury is a federal prison (now for women, formerly for men) in Danbury, Connecticut, 3 miles (4.8 km) north of downtown Danbury and 70 miles (110 km) from New York City.[1][2] This prison was known popularly as a "country club" prison, especially among mobsters who were sent here.[citation needed]
Danbury houses low security female offenders and also has an adjacent satellite camp which houses minimum security female offenders.

- In Season 7 Episode 1 of Weeds, the lead character Nancy Botwin is released from this prison after serving three years for manslaughter.
- In the Season 7 episode of CSI: NY "Identity Crisis", it is revealed that the biological mother of Ellie, Jo's adopted daughter, is serving a long sentence at FCI Danbury.
