Biography
Orthrelm is a duo with Mick Barr on guitar and Josh Blair on drums, experimenting in many forms of unconventional songwriting styles and musical concepts in general.
The band's members have released a few notable and significant releases since Orthrelm's inception, with projects such as Crom-Tech and Barr's solo side-project Octis. For example, their 2002 release Asristir Vieldriox is 13 minutes long with a total of 99 songs, each one averaging between 5 and 15 seconds in length.[1] In contrast, the OV album features a single, 45-minute track based on extremely intense repetition, marrying the speed of grindcore and the repetition of Terry Riley's brand of minimalism.[2] The band have been chosen by Animal Collective to perform at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival that they will curate in May 2011.[3]
