Strome is a village in East Central Alberta, Canada. It is located 58 km east of the city of Camrose, along Highway 13.

Demographics

In 2006, Strome had a population of 252 living in 114 dwellings, a 7.7% decrease from 2001. History

In 1905 the town site of Strome was developed, and it became a very successful farming community. In the fall of 1905 Max Knoll opened the first post office, under the name of Knollton and set up the first general store. The name of the post office was changed to Strome on July 1, 1906. A Hotel, Hardwear Store, and a Church followed. Strome became an incorporated Village on February 3, 1910. [ [http://www.villageofstrome.com/about_us Strome's History] ]
