Port Macquarie is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It has been represented by independent member Rob Oakeshott since 1996.
At the 2007 State election, a total of 46,028 electors were enrolled. [cite web

The previous member, state Nationals turned independent MP Rob Oakeshott, resigned from the seat in order to contest the Lyne by-election which he won. This triggered a Port Macquarie by-election. Port Macquarie was created in 1988, replacing Oxley (which was recreated in 1991).
