Stilbenoid

Stilbenoid

Stilbenoids are secondary products of heartwood formation in trees that can act as phytoalexins. Chemically they are hydroxylated derivatives of stilbene. Biochemically they belong to the family of phenylpropanoids and share most of their biosynthesis pathway with chalcones. [cite journal
