The Manhattan Libertarian Party was re-established in 2000 after the collapse of the Howard Stern for Governor campaign in 1994. It is a chapter of the Libertarian Party of New York. The Manhattan Libertarian party stands for and supports candidates who stand for the idea that each man owns himself, and no man has a right to ownership on any other man. Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Ukrainian East Village Restaurant, located at 140 second Avenue.

Sam Sloan and the Manhattan madam Kristin Davis (not the TV actress by the same name) are both seeking the Libertarian Party nomination for Governor of New York State. Andrew Clunn seeks to be nominated for Lieutenant Governor, Carl Person seeks the nomination for Attorney General. John Clifton seeks the nomination for US Senate, and Michel Faulkner seeks the nomination for US Congress from the 15th Congressional District presently held by Charles Rangel.
