(1966)"Over Under Sideways Down" was a single by The Yardbirds released on Columbia in the UK and Epic in the U.S. Chart tops: UK: #10, US: #13.[1]
It was the title song to the album Over Under Sideways Down (US, German and French title), or Yardbirds (UK title) which is more commonly referred to as Roger the Engineer. The song was based around Bill Haley and the Comets' "Rock Around the Clock" with Jeff Beck on lead guitar and bass guitar.
The B-side was "Jeff's Boogie", an instrumental featuring Jeff Beck on lead guitar. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Beck, Bogert, and Appice also performed the song live in concert.
"Jeff's Boogie" was, although the band claimed writing credits for the song, a thinly veiled cover of Chuck Berry's Guitar Boogie.[2]
It was rated No. 23 in Rolling Stone Magazine's list The 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time.[3]
The song was featured during a drug binge sequence in the 2009 film Observe and Report, as well as at the beginning of the trailer.
