Tampa Bay Times (tbt*) is a free daily newspaper published by the St. Petersburg Times. It appears five days per week -- Monday through Friday -- in a tabloid format. Known primarily as "tbt*", the paper launched in September 2004, as a weekly, then increased its frequency to five days per week in March 2006. The company says the newspaper is edited for a time-pressed, younger audience. Stories are briefer and "edgier" than a traditional newspaper. Articles cover state, local, national and world news as well as sports, entertainment, lifestyles, and business. In fact, tbt* looks at news in some unusual ways with sections like the Juice*, Sports Talk, and World in a Snap that shows events entirely through pictures.
