Democratic Union (Russian: Демократический Союз) is a Russian liberal party led by a controversial Russian female politician Valeria Novodvorskaya. The orientation has been radically liberal and pro-reform. The party charter specifies the main goals of the organization (among others) as follows:

  • popularization of liberal ideas
  • strengthening the rule of law
  • supporting liberal reforms
  • support and protection of private property
  • fighting against occurrence of communist, nazist, fascist, socialist and national socialist ideas.
