The station was constructed in 1898 by

Elkins Park Station is located along the SEPTA Main Line. Elkins Park station is served by most R1 trains to
Philadelphia International Airport , although half of peak hour and midday weekday trains terminate at Temple University station, below Elkins Park . The station is also served by numerous R2 Warminster line and R3 West Trenton line trains, especially on Weekends, when all R2 and R3 trains stop at Elkins Park Station.
