List of law schools in Canada

This is a list of law schools and law faculties in Canada.

Canada is mostly a common law jurisdiction. However, the province of Quebec uses the civil law system for private law matters. As a result, Quebec's French language law schools are exclusively civil law schools.

** The Military Law Centre on the grounds of Royal Military College of Canada, in Kingston, Ontario, staffed with 12 military lawyers, oversees the education of officers and troops in legal matters ranging from the Canadian Forces' own code of conduct to the laws of war. It trains military lawyers and advises Ottawa on matters of policy and doctrine. The centre integrates legal education into the regular training that Forces members undergo and establishes its growing importance within the military hierarchy.

Notable Defunct Schools

* Akitsiraq Law School was a one-time program for Inuit students, administered jointly by the University of Victoria Faculty of Law and Nunavut Arctic College. There are no current plans to reinitiate the program.
