History
Opus’ origins began with the Ministry of Works and Development, a former government entity which was established in 1885. Corporatized in 1988, the Ministry of Works and Development became a State-Owned-Enterprise and was thereafter known as Works and Development Services Corporation NZ Limited.[2] In 1996, Kinta Kellas purchased Works and Development Services and the company was rebranded as Opus International Consultants Limited in 1997. From 2002 onwards, Opus developed its global markets through a series of acquisitions and in 2007, Opus was listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange. Today, Opus has approximately 2,400 staff throughout Australia, Canada, The United Kingdom, New Zealand and United States of America, .[3]
