Online lottery is an online version of the traditional lottery. Online lottery enable players to buy tickets through the internet. Online lottery sites offers tickets for sale, a review of the latest lottery results, stories from recent winners, lottery odds and some of them offers free lottery. [1][not in citation given]

History
Online lottery has become available in the middle of the 90’s. Official lottery companies have come to the understanding that the crowd using the internet is growing, and that people like the idea of online games. It did not take a while and private brands of online lottery started to appear on the net, providing their own brand lottery tickets. Online lottery allows people to buy lottery tickets to draws from out of their countries. [2][not in citation given]
Online lottery sites types
Online lottery can be divided into four groups based on their interface: official lottery sites, national lottery sites, international lottery sites and private brand online lottery.
Official lottery sites
Provides lottery tickets to an official lottery draw in certain country such as: Megamillions, Powerball, OZ lotto, and more. [3][not in citation given]
National lottery sites
Provides lottery tickets to all lottery draws in a certain country. For example: In Australia - Powerball Lotto, Saturday Lotto, OZ lotto.
International lottery sites
Provides tickets to lottery draws from all over the world. Those sites provide a messenger service to their customers. The sites are mostly available in few different languages.
Private brand online lottery
Tickets to the lottery draws from those sites are usually available only online. Some of the sites also provide free lottery.
