Notre Dame of Banga is a Catholic school located in Banga, South Cotabato, Philippines.[1] It was founded by the Mother Dionesia and Mother Cecilia Rosa Talangpaz,[2] of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1952.[3] Turned over to the Augustinian Recollect[4] sisters on May 11, 1956 through the request of Bishop Gerard Mongeau.

School seal

The School Logo of NDB has the following significance[5]:

  • The Shield bears the National Colors: Red, White and Blue, an indication that this institution is genuinely Filipino.
  • The Cross occupies the center of the shield to give it the most important position in the field. It symbolizes the missionary character of the congregation of the school authorities.
  • On the Dexter side of the shield is the emblem of the congregation, the Augustinian Recollect Sisters.
  • On the sinister side of the shield are the attributes of St. Rita, Namely: The Crown of thorns and the rose, standing erectly in the middle of a white field which suggest snow.
  • Virtus and Scientia indicate the two-fold objective in teaching. Virtue and Knowledge characterized a true Catholic Education.
  • The outer rim contains the school's name- Notre Dame of Banga, Banga, South Cotabato where the place of the school is located.
