The Kentucky Monsters^[2] are a professional indoor football team that will begin play in the Ultimate Indoor Football League in 2012. The Monsters are based in Highland Heights, Kentucky and will play at The Bank of Kentucky Center.^[3]

The Monsters are not to be confused with their predecessors the Northern Kentucky River Monsters, who played the UIFL's inaugural season in Highland Heights until the team and the UIFL agreed to part ways.^[4] Although the Monsters have said they will maintain the River Monsters' prior records, the River Monsters have maintained their previous identity in the Continental Indoor Football League, having moved to Muncie, Indiana as the Muncie River Monsters.
