About

Northern India Engineering College is a multi-disciplinary technical and higher education institution of Northern India, established in 1999. The college is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra. It is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Location and campus

The college is situated at Dr. Akhilesh Das Nagar, Faizabad Road, Lucknow, adjoining the campus of BBDNITM and is a part of Babu Banarasi Das Group of Educational Institutions. It is 15 km from Charbagh Railway Station and the bus stand, and 25 km from Amausi Airport.

Babu Banarasi Das Group of Educational Institutions is spread over 200 acres (0.81 km2) of land, out of which 50 acres (200,000 m2) is earmarked for the Northern India Engineering college campus with infrastructure worth over Rs.50 Crores (US $10 Million). Infrastructure facilities include lecture theaters, tutorial rooms, Computer Centre, laboratories, engineering workshops, drawing halls, library, seminar halls, hostels for boys and girls, and play grounds of lawn tennis ,cricket, football, volley ball and badminton. The ATM facility has been made available by the Punjab National Bank.

Infrastructure

A seven storied academic block of the college with covered area of 160,000 sq ft (15,000 m2) is under construction, out of which covered area of 150,000 sq ft (14,000 m2) is furnished and functional.

A second academic block for MCA Programme with 25,000 sq ft (2,300 m2) covered area with class rooms, Computer Lab and seminar hall is also functional. The Computer Lab will have over 250 computers with internet connectivity through 2 Mbit/s leased line.

Other facilities like stadium, auditorium and gymnasium are under construction. A Yoga and Meditation Centre is also available for the students. The Civil Engineering department started from academic year 2008-09.
