The college was established in 1962 and is affiliated to Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow.It has been granted the status of 'an autonomous institute' by UGC in the year 2011.[1]
Contents
History
The college started with departments of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Electronics was started in 1973. The Computer Science and Engineering degree course was added in 1984. The Center for Management Studies was established in 2001. The college was affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University from the university's inception in 2000 till its bifurcation in 2010, resulting in the college becoming affiliated to the present university, one of the two that were formed on the division. The college is now an autonomous institute.
Administration
The college is managed by a Society registered under the Societies Registration Act. No. XXI of 1960. The administration of the college and its affairs are controlled by the Board of Governors of the Society.
Admission
It admits 330 B.Tech, 108 M.Tech., 60 M.C.A. and 60 MBA students annually to a total student body of 1,640. Admission to the institute is through a national-level entrance examination conducted by Gautam Buddh Technical University and Mahamaya Technical University in collaboration.

The college offers a Bachelor of Technology degree course of four years duration in the following fields:

- Computer Science and Engineering
The college also offers M.Tech in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. The college also offers a two-year full time degree course leading to Master of Business Administration and a three-year full time degree course leading to Master of Computer Applications.
The college offers Ph.D. and runs the part time courses of IGNOU.
Centre for Management Studies
The centre's campus has an area of 400 acres (1.6 km2). The courses are as prescribed by Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow, with dual specialization in:

Campus
The college has a campus of {convert|340|acre|km2|1}} on the national highway connecting the city of Gorakhpur to Deoria. The campus has lush green surroundings. It is residential, with five boys' hostels, three girls' hostels, and teacher's colonies.

Student life
Students participate in technical and cultural societies and clubs, to develop their managerial and technical skills.
IEEE Student Branch
It is one of the largest student branches of the northern India. To foster an interest in the engineering profession, IEEE also serves student members in colleges and universities around the world.
It organizes the technical festival of the college - techSRIJAN, in association with SAE India Collegiate Club.
The Editorial Board
The Editorial Board is responsible for the publication of the college magazine MALVIKA and organising many events including UDGAAR, ARUNODYAY etc for the college students.
Robotics club
The club organises robotics events and workshops, round the year. A final year student is generally selected as a chairperson of the club.
Societies
MMMEC has an SAE India collegiate club along with ECE Society and EEL.
Other societies are the Editorial Board, which is an official forum, along with unofficial groups like ALA, SANKET, and C'TOAN. The college also has a Day Scholars Club for the local students from Gorakhpur.
